Meet the team

Angela Kemp

Began working life as an Office Junior at T.I.Clough & Co., Bradford, which at that time was a very well known Criminal based practice.

I progressed to receptionist and trainee typist.  I attended Shipley College for a couple of years for Shorthand and typing and began to assist in various departments, progressing to a Partner’s P/A in the Conveyancing department.
I then left to have family and be a ‘stay at home Mum’.
After quite a few years, when I returned to the workplace, I joined another well known and established firm by the name of Read Hind & Co., as a temporary ‘fill in’ secretary for holidays and illness.  I soon became part of the residential conveyancing team as Secretary to one of the experienced Fee Earners.  I was part of the firm’s three mergers and de-mergers from Read Hind & Co., to Read Hind Stewart then to Reads and, finally, to the merger with Dunn Connell, when the firm became Read Dunn Connell.  I also assisted with the IT involved in the case management system and assisting other members of staff with the same.
I also worked at Bradford City AFC on matchdays.
One day I received a call from the then Chairman asking me if I would like to go and work there permanently so, I left the legal profession to take up a position in the football club’s Ticket Office, ending up with me being the Senior Ticket Office Supervisor.
I worked at the Club for 10 years or so, looking after the Ticket Office and helping out with numerous other duties and functions as and when needed.  Along the way, I built up quite a portfolio of  famous friends and acquaintances’ and we still keep in touch as and when we can.
I then left football and went back into the legal profession, having found my ideal company in the form of Runhams, who were based in Saltaire, close to where I live.
Again I began as a general secretary and was eventually asked if I would like to work for John Dowling in the Commercial Property Department and I agreed to do so. The company was eventually taken over by McManus Seddon’s and became McManus Seddon Runhams, where I worked for a couple of more years.
In June 2013, I was given the opportunity of following John and joining Platinum Partnership Solicitors, a chance which I jumped at. The rest is, as they say, history.

First and foremost, I love travelling up to the North East to see my eldest Son, daughter-in-law and two young grandsons.

I was on the Committee of a private members club for approximately 3 years, involved in it’s promotion and growth, within the immediate community of Shipley and Saltaire, to a much wider audience.
I was a key member of the catering side of the business too, and with my ‘front of house’ expertise and people skills, coupled with being able to ‘sell coal to Newcastle and snow to the Eskimos’ played a large part in building it up from nothing to it being a very popular and successful venue, catering for not only onsite functions, but outside functions too.
Because of my involvement with Bradford City AFC, I enjoy watching football and also most other sports.
I love meeting people so, helping friends by working their bars if they need a hand, suits me perfectly.  I also like a variety of Music, especially the current charts.
I try and meet up with my current circle of friends once a week and, If I ever get the time, I find cooking for large numbers of friends, family and other people very relaxing and enjoyable.
